Mobile Wheel Technician Job Description
This position is responsible for painting surfaces of wheels using spray-painting equipment, power tools and work aids utilizing specific surface preparation and painting techniques. Straightening of bent alloy wheels as well.
Inspect wheels to be painted for repair, prepping and/or buffing defects
Mix specified colors to match
Sand, mask, blend, and polish finish
Apply or retouch paint as necessary
Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e., provide technical assistance to helpers, orient and train new employees, etc.
Full-time position that occasionally requires overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as business needs dictate
Complete required paperwork and submit according to company procedures
Maintain tools and vehicles in good working condition
Maintain inventory of all job related materials
Maintain route and return all calls on a timely basis (within 30 minutes)
Follow company procedures, policies and practices at all times
Effective communication and interaction skills
Excellent organizational skills required
Professional Customer Service Skills
Valid Driver's License and “clean” driving record required (a few minor infractions may be permitted)
High School Diploma required
Excellent attendance performance is expected
Must be able and willing to work without direct supervision
Must pass Background Check
Ability to operate in all types of indoor & outdoor work environments and climates
Must follow all safety procedures and work in a safe manner
Auto painting experience or collision repair technical school training is beneficial, but not required
Regularly required to stand and walk
Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and sit
Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. on an occasional basis
Manual dexterity, repetitive motion tasks
Frequent exposure to toxic paint related chemicals
Moderate noise level
Respirators must be worn, and other protective equipment may be required
Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Hourly pay during on-the-job training period
Hourly plus commission after training (Anticipated starting wage level: $36,000+ per year)
